This gastro tapas can only be described as total food porn and chef Jamie Ward a total genius! Just when I think he cannot tantalise my taste buds anymore….. he concocts another flavoursome delight!
Things I also love about Susi- the location is great, beach front so you can eat amazing food with an amazing view! Definitely the place for sun downer drinks! The staff are lovely and work bloody hard and the value for money is exceptional!
I have selected a few dishes off the menu and some specials!
– Jamie’s Famous Prawn Pil-Pil
– Crispy Seabass
– Patatas Bravas
– Iberico BBQ Ribs
– Ribs Special
All I can think about now is ribs! The Iberico ribs struggled to STAY on the bone. They were so tender and succulent, the meat just fell off… literally! I wasn’t really sure on the deep fried ribs, but my oh my they were divine! If you ever see them on the special menu again, please call me!
I am not a huge lover of Seabass usually but the crispy skin caught my attention and it was just that. Combined with the asparagus and truffle oil is was fabulous. The fish was cooked to perfection, flaky but not dry. I am glad this is a usual suspect on the menu.
The bravas had a great kick but not where you needed to extinguish your tongue after. I have found a lot of places here think it’s about as much heat as possible, which totally ruins the dish.
The pil-pil is famous for a reason… it’s shrimply delicious. It would be shellfish of me not to tell everyone how amazing this dish is! OK OK I’ll stop, although I’m krilling it with the jokes! On a serious note, one of the tastiest and most popular dishes on the menu.
The only slight downfall for me is the wine list, I am very fussy and I would like to see more pairings with the food. As mentioned before, I love the location but Sabinillas can be a nightmare to park at times (hence losing one 🍤 😂)
